Egypt:Year Zero

So why am i ridiculously hyped up these days? Why am i staying in Egypt and not frantically searching for a job in Dubai or a green card to the U.S. ? What's wrong with me? Optimistic? about the future of Egypt? Seriously??

Despite all appearances my absoulte firm affirmative answer stands high and loud! Yes, i'm very optimistic about the future in Egypt! While many would wonder on my basis for such an assumption let me tell you that that was never the way i percceived the future for Egypt in the Mubarak era, Things got only interesting and engaging after the Toppling of his regime.

Yes, nothing seems to be working in any field right now, no security, no electricity, no water and a decaying economical system but at the same time no body seems to be keen on keeping the statues quo.

There is no life suffocating political regime that hinders development or ideas anymore, sure the islamist president Dr.Morsy is trying his best to make matters even worse with his incompetence and lack of any future vision or sense of prioritization but compared to Mighty Mubarak he is but a clown, besides it's not completly up to your opponent, it helps a lot if you took to the streets and helped toppling a tyrant! It tells you something about what you can do!

The reason i've been having ten times the number of ideas i used to have before is because i feel that Egypt is in a post Nuclear bomb/Noah's flood condition at the moment! Every little effort you do to make something better matters.Unlike living in Japan or Norway where it will require you one hundered times the same effort and time to have the same impact you can achieve here in Egypt! You feel that you are and can be needed!

I remember being dedicated to my personal welfare where the world revolved around me and my sole interest was to "make it!", i lived in a very small world, thanks to deteriorating conditions in nearly every aspect of life i discovering that the world is much bigger and full of real problems, it is Year Zero where you get the chance to plant something and watch it grow immediatly, interested in Renewable Energy projects and finding a way to finance them? guess what? there is an energy crisis and the markets are ready for them, feeling angry and frustrated because you encountered two college gradutes who can't know the difference between communism and Shiaa Islam because they sound alike in arabic? start a publishing house to spread knowledge because ignorance is flourishing and again the market is staggeringly hungry. the potential is literally limitless.

It is a great time to live in Egypt i tell you, if you want to have an impact on others, welcome to Year Zero
